Question Connection Problem

I have a 3-Com (3CRWE754G72-A) Access Point and a Centrino equipped PC with an Intel 2200BG. A strange combination of events:
- Other PC's (varied vendor's NIC's) can use this hub successfully.
- The PC with the Intel 2200BG reports 'out of range' with this hub (even when co-located with the hub); however, it works fine on other model 3Com hubs.

Any ideas? (Hub or PC problem?)

Firmware on the one "hub" (wireless router) that your setup does not like? This mixed vendor problem is more widespread than one might think.

Question Further tests

I have done some further testing - relocated the Hub and PC to another building and all works fine; bring it back to the original building and it still fails; seems to be 'noise' related - however, Net Stumbler works and reports SNR in 40-50 range. Other PC's continue to work fine. (I have tried other channels.) I am still stumped.

Solved

Problem was resolved by upgrading 3-Com firmware to current level.
