Well I got 2 pigtails coming from FAB. 1 for the wmp-11 and 1 for my avaya/laptop. Ordered Sunday/processed monday/be here Thursday. So I should be playing by the weekend. Went ahead and got their cantennae kit, gave me the pig tail I needed anyways and parts to finish an antennae I built for $2 more. "Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun" LOL Ok I'm better now.

Foot of snow? Bah! We just got a foot of rain. My yard is starting to look like a lake. Pretty soon I'll need a boat to get to my truck.

Well, at least the temp is warmer now. Hopefully will get the chance to install the antenna soon.

Arrgh, did I say a foot? Its a foot and a half in the low spots, 3 foot drifts. Spent 7 hours digging my truck out after I buried it 3 times. Doubt I'll see that pigtail till next week, all the roads are closed. Just have to sit and watch the war, till I run outta food, dog will have to share! HA I used to live in Pensacola for 5 years, those rains you get are no picnic either. Oh well plenty of time to read posts I guess! Good luck

The whole setup that I started this thread with is finally up and running. 1 directional antenna with 30' L400 cable and 6" pigtail finally setup and running like a champion.

Well my stuff showed up Saturday, much to my surprise. They attempted, or should I say thought about delivering Friday but changed there minds. Got things up and running today, picking up AP's at about 3/4 of a mile. Not bad for no bridge and antennae on the other end. One time NS identified the wmp-11 but did not work correctly, solid purple bar graph. I tuned in using my laptop and Avaya though and then switched to linksys which came in stronger. Neighbors probably wondered about me sitting on the rooftop with a laptop and turning this wierd antennae LOL! So with that I'm gonna order the other end. It will be great gaming with my buddy. Right now its running at 235kbs, compared to 28.8kbs its fast to me. Hope yours is going well.

Yeah, I'm getting 11Mb throughput on the link here. Strong signal and strong link.

While running the cables for the antenna, I had the pleasure of seeing the Florida State Bird all around. You know spring is here when the Florida state bird makes its first appearance of the year. I've attached a picture of it below.

Thanks! Very pleased with the performance of the link. Now just need a faster computer to connect to the antenna I think I might have to go buy one of the all-in-one motherboards and a case and start swapping out parts on my mothers computer. That thing is just toooooooooo slow. I've upgraded it as much as I can for her but there is a limit to what can be done

So what are you gonna be doing with the yagi? You tearing down the 19dbi parabolic antenna on your flagpole? Or are you going to go war-driving now?

Sorry for the delay in responding, I didn't get an e-mail response of a post from NS. I'm leaving up the parabollic, thats working pretty well. I went war driving with this new ANTENEX yagi and WOW does it work nice. I stuck it through the head rest on the passenger seat. I didn't expect much omni perfomance out of it but it performed better than my omni on my roof. Hit 516 kbs as compared to 235 kbs on my connection, and found more contacts in places I had already been. I'm planning to beef up my buddys end with it, soon as we get some better weather. Wind is blowing to hard to be climbing on his roof . To darn cold. Your right about your Mom's, you can only do so much. What's she running? There's a lot of good deals out there on parts if you got the time to shop. Keep your eye on places like PriceWatch.com. Or you can check this site http://www.gotapex.com/deals.php they advertize deals that are out from places like Dell. Dell SB has been running some pretty good deals on weekends, nice having a good warranty.

Sorry it took so long to reply

Been really busy lately. I managed to setup a new computer for my mom (AMD Duron 1300+, 256Mb RAM, cd-burner, 40Gb HDD) for $250, all new parts. Transplanted the Linksys wireless PCI card and getting Very Good --> Excellent connections. Reading the forums at Netstumbler have really been helpful and informative. I've learned a whole lot in the month or so I've been around the forums. We might need to start corresponding via e-mail, otherwise we might piss off the forum admins, and I don't wanna do that
