D-Link DWL 900AP+ repeater mode problem
I have 7km link with two D-link Dwl 900AP and two 24db Grid antennas, conection work perfect(ping 1-3 ms) , but if I use third AP in repeater mode in the middle of other 2 (1 in access point mode and one in client mode), connection is bad, ping is very large (200ms, 400ms or larger) and connection is very slow.
I have used repeater in short distances (200-400m) and it worked good, but I don't know where is problem in long distance link. If anyone know something about this problem, please help me. |

I could not get my 900AP+ to repeat a signal from 1km away with a 21 dBI grid antenna until I repositioned the repeater. High gain antenna's are so sensitive! Have you used NS to ensure there is no signal degredation in the new position of the repeater? Also I assume the repeater is using the internal antenna to propagate the signal to the client, if the external antenna is connected to the dish; no way near as good as a dish. If there is no signal degredation in the repeater's new position there might be something blocking the last 100 meters to the client? Maybe a good directional antenna from the client to the repeater, just a thought? But my experience is that its usually the signal.
