eBay wificard + supercantenna, problems

Bought these items from eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Orinoco Gold Classic 802.11b Card. (Another manufacturer though...> Enterasys networks: RoamAbout 802.11 DS card)

And an SuperCantenna, 12dBi.

I have set this up in my home beside a window. But im not really satisfied, not impressed at all. See pictures below!

http://web1.vattnet.com/stuff/wifi/

My internal Intel wificard seems to get much better signal strength. But the weird thing is I can surf quite stable with the supercantenna+orinococard on a wifinet that has 8-12% signalstrength.

Has to be at least 45% with the intelcard to be stable.

Do you have any suggestions, what is important when handling supercantennas. Should I update the drivers to the wirelesscard device?

Considering you provided us with a nice network list, and none of them seem to be a legal spot to connect to. Did you just admit to committing a felony?

Where is your AP located? Have you tried repositioning it to see if that iimproves your signal?

Thanks for respond.

I have tried repositioned the cantenna quite much, different heights and angels. And, as you see, I am using the tripod which is like 1,9 meters tall.

Where the AP's are located. I dont know, but I find it quite bad to just have like maximum 25% signalstrength with this supercantenna (you see the NETGEAR AP on my screndump), and with my internal intel card, it was like 60%, with the same AP.

The supercantenna is very directional, right? And an internal card takes more an roundtaking area.

What is important when using the supercantenna?

The cantenna is only part of the problem. Have you tried moving the ap?

How come you don't know where the AP is located ? Or are you just connecting to unsecured networks that you happen to see around you ?
You better answer these questions...

If you do not know where the AP's are, I am 100% certain that they are not yours to use.

Statically speaking, you might have a better chance of Enhancing the signal by placing the cantenna infront of a microwave oven. Rig the door close sensor so that you can leave it open and operate.See, what alot of people do not know is that the microwaves provide a nice stabilizing buffer.

Also it will help cleanse the gene pool.

Other things to do with a microwave oven.

So, you're pretty much of a goddamn thief then? Please explain why we should help you steal? Please explain why you have no morals nor ethics, and why your mom didn't swallow the entire load?

Connecting and using networks you aren't authorized to connect to and use, is a crime in Sweden as well, and one that RKP don't look lightly on.

Which means that Rikskriminalpolisens IT-brottsroteln will be interested in you, and the details we will provide them with, when I call them on this number tomorrow morning : +46 8-401 45 90
Your details has been logged here, the pictures you have posted has been downloaded, and your admission to commiting this crime has been logged here as well.

In other words, you're a douchebag, who proved that your mother should have swallowed instead of procreating.

Oh, and by the way, you are banned as well.

@ Oskar aka oogah :

LMAO.. Taking down the pictures you posted ain't going to help you diddlysquat.
Vattnet.com keeps a log of all transactions, and backups of anything posted. Trying to cover your track is just incriminating you further...
