Enterasys Roamabout Upgrade help please!
Hi,
I have just purchased a Enterasys Roamabout 802.11 DS with 40bit WEP. I would like to ansure I maximise the functionality of the card by ensuring I have the latest flash, drivers etc. Having looked through a few threds I am a little confused as to exactly what I need to do, I am unsure if this card is effectively a Orinoco silver of gold card, it was sold as a gold with the Lucent Hermes chipset. I guess I would like to know how I can check the chipset and then what is the best way to fo about upgrading the card, it came with the Agere driver version 7.86.18.640 The full details of my card are as follows... Enterasys Roamabout 802.11 DS CSIBD-AA high rate 40bit WEP S/N 310201353679070C SCCID IMRWLPCE24H That's about it... Regards, Paul |

You have a rebranded Orinoco Silver. Search the threads to convert it to Gold.
If you are just using it with NS, it will work fine as a silver card. For current firmware: http://www.enterasys.com/download/download.cgi?lib=roam MikeP
