I need a router to use with a 26db antenna to receive a weak wifi signal. I was thinking on buying a 2100AP one , but I was told that the 900+ one is better but it also needs a custom bios.

Any suggestions?

Whos signal are you stealing?
First suggestion = google aka search
Second suggestion = RTFM for each AP, which meets yours needs?
Third suggestion = Maybe move or consider another solution.

You do understand that you will be lucky to get anything above "B" speed IF your lucky...

Also re-read(for the first time) the welcome desk.
Then fill in some of the following questions:
Do you have RF-LoS?
Do you know what RF-LoS is?
What is the distance between the 2 points?
What obstacles exist between the 2 points?
Any reason you can't connect via a hardwire to the other network?
Have you done the math?

I Am not stealing any signal
Its my school’s hot spot and I have access.
The 2 points have about 600m distance
The network is b , and I don’t mind low speeds (1-2 Mbps)
I tried to do some research about them but I didnt learn match.
Just wanted some opinion from experience users.
There are no obstacles between and there is visual contact(no houses , no trees between)and I live on a small hill ,about 5-10m higher from the school buildings
oh and a laptop can get signal at about 150m from the hotspot

Normally I do not do any math for anyone.. but if you are shooting 600 meters and you have NO LOS.. you are looking to shoot a signal 2000 feet ballpark. I would invest in a nice directional with a tight conical beam and pinpoint the AP's antenna so you can lock in on it.

That being said.. it will not be cheap nor will it be easy.

Its my school’s hot spot and I have access
The university that I am standing has put wi-fi hotspots for laptops and wi-fi connection so u can have internet and access the data u have on the school’s server

I'd talk to your school's network department. We're really cool guys and don't read everyone's e-mail like everyone says. (We have computers do that for us.) They could answer your question much better than we could, they actually know what their equipment is and have the ability to do a site survey.

The only thing I manage to learn is that the network is compatible with DWL-650+ (portable card) and uses IEEE 802.11b/g ,2-54 Mbps , WPA (PEAP 128bit), RADIUS

At the beginning that was the intention of the network
They didn’t expect that any one will give the money to set up a client .
But most of the crazy students set up their one network point to point directional (the people that had an office like MS students) so they gave permission to all .I look to find the system admin for more info but is hard to find .they only have a secretary to talk to.
If any of u is from Greece ,will now how things work around here.
Imagine that we don’t have dsl here, computer hardware students use use dial up
