External antenna mod for SMC PCMCIA card
Anyone know if this has been done yet?

According to SMC
Their card is not compatible w/ external antennas. In other words, I wouldn't bother. If you want an external antennae, buy a different card.

rephrase..
If you want an external antennae, I would buy a different card. You'll need an orinoco to use netstumbler and any prism2 for promisicous mode including the cisco's. Purchase accordingly =D

Antenna?
Which antenna would be good to get a good signal with this mod?

Also, does the internal antenna still function correctly?

Learty SyncByAir LN101's
Hi,
FWIW, Learty SyncByAir LN101's are exactly the same as the SMC2632W (Same FCC ID). So this mod will also work with them (PCB is identical).

The Internal antenna will not function after this mod has been made - notice those capacitors you have to add/remove.

I picked up two SyncByAir's on Ebay for not very much £/$/€, so hacking one of them isn't going to hurt as much for me :-).
