extracting WEP key embedded in cisco cards
We were issued though work a package of cisco pcmcia cards, with the WEP key already on the card. They work fine, but I want to extract the key from the card somehow and use it with an orinoco card (external antennas rock) for better range.
Cracking the key would be a pain and if its on the card, there must be an easier way.. anyone know? |

Better ask the IT Dept...
It is my understanding that WEP keys stored in cards are Write-Only for security reasons. This means that unless you knew the memory location it was stored AND were willing to tear apart the card to get to the NVRAM, you are MUCH better off asking yoru IT department to give you the WEP key. That is - If they are willing to divulge the info.
