Few Questions wireless card/antenna
Hi,
I currently own a Atheros 5001x internal wireless card in my laptop. When using netstumbler I see my wireless network showing up around -90 on the signal/noise chart. Whats interesting is that i can see my network i just cant access it, i am guessng the signal is to weak. Anyway to solve the problem a few people have told me to get SMC2532W-B EliteConnect 2.4GHz 802.11b High-Power Wireless PC Card http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000099671/qid=1104016300/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl23/002-4255014-7442435?v=glance&s=electronics&n=507846 I was wondering if that card now alone would be good enough to connect to the wireless network or if i need an antenna also. Also what antenna would you recommend, not looking for anything to expensive maybe something between 20-60 dollars. Thank you, Mike the noob If this is in the wrong section please move it i couldnt figure out exactly where it belong, |

You can't connect to a network while running Netstumbler. Some cards require a configure after using Netstumbler to allow them to access a network again.
