Hello,
I have got true Orinoco Classic Gold card in USB Adapter: http://members.lycos.co.uk/gim3mys2/card.jpg Unfortunately my USB-Adapter is branded (0d4e/047a), so I could not downgrade my firmware to 6.05 with any Proxim firmware updater... For me works ONLY cracked by me "Proxim firmware updater 8.72" (I changed in hexadecimal editor Pid and Vid to my values and then it works - to usu this firmware updater I had to also crack "inf" file of Proxim drivers substituting Pid and Vid values with mine"). But now, for some reasons I would like to downgrade my firmware to 6.05 one (or 6.xx one). Windows is using new 9.42 firmware included in Agere drivers (firmware is geting from disk, not from flashrom), so I could safely downgrade to 6.xx firmware without loosing any functionality (because flashed firmware isn't used). But linux driver unfortunately doesn't support downloading firmware from disk to RAM - in linux only flashed firmware is used... But any firmware >6.x doesn't work with Kismet when card is using with USB-adapter. I haven't got any PCMCIA slot, so I must use this card in USB-Adapter. Is somebody know what to do to downgrade the firmware. I could not crack any version different than 8.72 of firmware (always "Not wireless card found")... |
