garmin gps w/ usb?

here's the situation: got me lappie with no serial port... all it has is 3 usb, 1 parallel, vga out, video out, and all the network connections a boy could want ... anyhow...

i need a (preferably garmin) gps that allows connectivity with my lappie... i tried getting my garmin to connect to my serial2parallel... that didnt work ...

any help would be greatly appreciated as setting a fuckin waypoint every time i may or may not hear the signal of a wap isn't very productive.. :P

Other people have used the Belkin converter cable. Search around, you'll find it.

I use the keyspan pda dongle. In reality it is just a usb->serial dongle that they call a pda dongle and sell for $10 less than what they call a usb->serial dongle. I have also heard that the belkin usb->serial converters (got tired of the word dongle ) are tough to get working properly under linux. The keyspan stuff is easily built into the kernel and runs quite well.
