Hack the October publication of Esquire Magazine

Esquire is coming out with an e-paper/e-ink cover in October to celebrate their 75th Anniversary. I've been planning to pick up a few copies to play with. Check it out:

It's going to be interesting to see what comes from this.

Absolutely. It looks like a full-size cover, too. Originally I thought it was going to be one piece of the cover, perhaps just the headline portion or something. I expect the inputs will be very minimal, but imagine putting this on the cover of your laptop, showing a minimal display with the lid closed, or a heads-up display for any number of devices. Very cool possibilities!

Actually it's going to both the front cover and the back cover! Ford is subsidizing the cost of it. Unforutnately I'll be in Japan in September so I'll have to have the wife snag me a copy.

Yea, I was looking at one last night. Cool looking, but no hacking potential.

In my opinion, this isn't even a "true" representation of the technology. This is a cheap cop-out. I was excited by the prospects when they originally mentioned it. This is nothing but a cheesy disappointment.
