Haicom 303e Review

Thought I would give some back to the forum...

There are some using said device- but no formal endorsement. And, no I am not Mr. Haicom.

Recently picked up a Haicom 303e... Yes its got the evermore chipset.... 303mmf has the SiRF Star IIeLP (better- less power consumption). Haicom site is-

www.haicom.com.tw/products.htm

But- 50 bucks cheaper may buy you beers for a nite.
303e $100, 303mmf $150

Check buygpsnow for pricing. (they treated me right)

Anyway, it's a mouse, cf card, with adapter- pcmcia, and can blue tooth it (with adapter).

Works with my laptop (pos vaio p2 300), ipaq 3835, etc. No special setup- just works- with Netstumbler/Mini.

That's it ... still testing.

One last thing-

It comes with a serial adapter which is undocumented and made me happy- no usb out of the box. I had to buy the auto adapter for ipaq ($20).

No one seemed to know that it was WAAS enabled until I mentioned it. Typical tech support.

Docs are marginal and contradictory somewhat.

All and all a well rounded gps solution (so far). Haicom stumbled on to a good product (pun intentional).

I've had mine since December and love it. The folding feature is very cool, it gets connected super quick and never seems to lose signal. Highly recommended.

I got mine from Semsons at www.semsons.com great deal and they give you a free Arkon dash mount PDA holder.
