As for NS compatibility, read the NS readme file, which lists the supported cards. Dutch

Good ,
now we are getting somewhere. O/s = windows 2000 (sp2) ,software netstumbler ,latest version. I have read somewhere on the forum that there issues with the latest atheros chipset and NS:this would indicate I go for the prism chipset pcmcia card. Thank you. |

In terms of comparing the chipsets I would say that the Ubiquiti card is far superior. To look at the standards they support. Security Ubiquiti: AES (WPA2) Prism2.5: 128 bit WEP, probably upgradeable to WPA Physical layer standards: Ubiquiti: 802.11a/b/g (.11h its not phy layer but cool anyway) Prism2.5: 802.11b The only thing I think the prism card has going for it is driver support. I dont think madwifi drivers have been made for the Atheros chipset used in the Ubiquiti card. Hence if you are really keen to be sniffing management frames etc, I would go for the prism chipset. I hope this helps |
