A family operated hotel.. A guy running it, who don't know how to use capital letters at the start of a sentence... And this guy haven't got the faintest idea of setting wireless stuff up, but still wants to do it him self... Sheesh... Ain't checking in to that hotel.. Fawlty Towers was run as a 5 star hotel compared the above strategy... Hint: Get a professional to survey, plan, and install the wireless network, if you want it done properly.. Remember, it's a service you are providing to customers. If it ain't working correctly, it will reflect on the hotels perceived overall service. Don't do it yourself, just because you know how to switch on your Windows pc. Dutch

With all the precision of a 30lb sledge hammer, Dutch gets right to the point that I'm sure many of us were thinking but just couldn't get the words out..

Here we go again..wifinewb, Let's clear a few things up. The very fact that you have "newb" in your name clarifies a major point... You are new here. Don't be a 'tard! Walking in and telling the seasoned pros here to "stop bing so stupid" won't win you any friends. In fact, you'll end up in the newbie bin faster than you can type out a spiteful response to any of these messages. CHILL!!! Ask nicely, provide useful information when asking questions, and treat people here with respect. Do so, and you will be treated in kind.

The questions your asking indicate you've had a little experience with some WiFi equipment, but it sounds like you know how to drive a go-cart but you think you can drive a tractor-trailer. The basics are the same, but everything is on a much bigger scale, it can crash a lot quicker and a lot harder, and it will cause a lot more hurt when it does.
This is NOT a Do-It-Yourself project. With a setup that large, you need a professional install, and a budget of $2k to $20K (depending on a number of factors.) If you currently have all the rooms "hardwired" then you must have someone providing some level of technical assistance. You should start by talking to your IT people. By the way, this isn't AOL. Please read this:http://www.netstumbler.org/showthread.php?t=12814 as well as the rest of the Rules.

Furthermore, when you post on a public forum, you DON'T have any say in who is responding to your question. Secondly, I helped, I actually went above and beyond the call of duty, by providing you with gratis advice about you being in over your head.. Quote:
