I Don't think it's possible, but thought I'd ask.

A friend has a buisness with a wireless network which he charges his customers a small fee to use while in his establishment. Is there anyway to set it up so people in his establishment cannot access AP's which are not his?

Other than building a faraday cage around his establishment, I dont think he can prevent access to APs outside his control.

And that wouldn't stop a Man in the middle attack from someone inside said establishment.

Basically it can't be done.

No Legealy....

He could get 1 AP for Each Channel and crank'em up with 2w amps and some
omni's... That way his signals would block out/Outpower everything else in the area. I believe XP (if not Configured to a certain Network) will search
out and connect to the AP with the strongest signal. Since your buddy has
his AP's on 2w amps. He will have the best connection....

I would give this setup about 5-7 days before he gets a visit from the men in black...

And better yet, if he were hook all of them up to 24dbi Grid antennas directed to the inside of his establishment, he woud ensure that nothing else would be stronger..

Right? It's logical.

Of course, the customers might not be crazy about the RF burns.

Yeah, but Guiness might be interested in the worlds largest Microwave Oven. This combined with the Faraday cage. It was be quite warm in there.

But he'd have the added benefit, that hot beverages served in the establishment, would never go cold on the tables. Now thats something that would draw extra business to the shop....
