I searched for this item in here so I guess I am the 1st

This is something I was aked to research for my company since I think we are looking at becoming their manufature for it.

http://www.wiflyer.com/StoreFront.bok

it has potential to be better than it is now.. and I listed the things I would like it to see in an email. But.. it offers a user the ability to set up a small limited network on a DIALUP no less

The only other broadband router I fould out there was one from USR

http://www.usr.com/products/networki...p?sku=USR8000A

and theirs you have to buy an external dialup modem.

APC (yup, the UPS people) had a portable AP last year, but it seems to have been dropped from their product line.

Back in the day when I first played with wireless I had a Belkin AP. At that time everything was expensive, the AP (just AP no router) cost me $249 and the pcmcia card was $199.

I put a modem into an old PC and used WinProxy. The ethernet port was plugged into a hub (expensive also not a switch) and then into the AP. The winproxy redirected you to a dialing screen while it dialed. In 5 second increments as soon as dialup was connected I had internet. It was pretty sweet for the time.

Am I still asleep or is that along the idea you are thinking of.

the idea is the same.. you are sharing a network uplink. Its just this device (see link in my original post) has the modem built in, you plug your hub/switch into it and it can handle 5 pc's now on the dialup. Now if they run with my ideas of supporting a full class C (253 usable IP's), have fall over on the dialup so that you can run broadband on it (and it does support it) but have it set up so that if your broadband drops, it dials out and gives you net connectivity (abeit at dialup speeds) but you can do email) Also set it up so it can do faxing, both send/recieve.

coupled with the built in WIFI and it has an external antenna jack which is MMC... well you can add better reception via a visit to FabCorp's website
