IPAQ 6515 with NetStumbler on Laptop

I am new to NetStumbler and have searched but cannot find the info I need. Appologies if this question has already been posted.

I have an IPAQ 6515 which has a built in GPS ad bluetooth but does not have wireless.

I have installed NetGate (sofware package that should make my GPS on IPAQ visible to my laptop) but cannot get any com port in NetSumbler to see the GPS. By going through thr various ports I get either

GPS: Disconnected
or
GPS: Timed out

There does not seem to be an option to select an activesync connection or bluetooth connection.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or is this setup possible?

thanks in advance

Arent IPAQ's a handheld? Shouldn't you be trying to use Ministumbler instead?

As for the GPS, usually on handhelds, you have to tell it which comport to hook up to.

(Disclaimer, I know nothing about IPAQ's and I'm sure this thread's going to go into the bin anyway so I'm not even going to look. I know other people have IPAQ's here so they can correct me.)

Have you verified the data is getting to the port using a comms program (hyperterminal or such)?

Have you paired your IPAQ to your Laptop?

In order for Netstumbler to see the GPS it will need to be on a COM port whether physical or virtual. It seems you're missing a piece of the puzzle

GPS > Netgate > ?? > Com Port x > Netstumbler
