Issues with 802.11a and g
Sorry if there already have been threads concerning this topic .....
If you want to make sure nobody in your company uses unathorized WLAN equipment, you have to scan for 802.11 a, b and g. Netstumbler is said to be working with "a" under WinXP, but I couldn't find any compatibility list. Any recommendations/experiences with these cards? And what about 54 MBit in 2.4GHz "g"? Do I detect "g"'s with my b-card or do I have to use a "g" card? Thanks for any input! |

802.11A/G cards are not supported....
They MIGHT work under XP but "You take your chances"... The only cards that are garenteed to work with NS are the one's listed in the README file. If you want to search for 802.11A/G & B signals then you need to use a professional tool such as Wildpackets AiropeekNX or NAI's Sniffer Wireless.
