Issues with Linksys

I know Netstumbler doesn't work with Linksys equipment, but are there any known issues with Netstumbler interfering with Linksys operation? I have a Linksys WPC54G PCMCIA card in my W2K laptop. Upon installation of Netstumbler, the Configuration Utility stopped working in that there were no detected SSIDs, even though my PC was right next to the AP (I also tried another Wireless Router). After unistallation of Netstumbler, the PCMCIA card continued to NOT recieve any signal at all from any AP. Are there any .dlls or something in the regestry that would continue to hamper the operation of the Linksys Configuration Utility? I've tried reinstalling the Linksys driver numerous times as well as reinserting the PCMCIA card and rebooting after each step.

Any input is appreciated . . .

I followed exactly what is indicated here and it worked!!!

I can't use netstumbler though...

Hope this site will help you.

Thank you for your reply. After following the directions to copy the drivers directly to the system32 directory, the Configuration Utility works again.

Netstumbler seems to be a cool product, but I'm forced to recommend to everyone I know to not use this app if you run Linksys.

I would hope the next release of Netstumbler fixes this bug.

Later,

Justin

...and let's not forget the truly responsible and intelligent thing to do is read all the available material, i.e. the friggin' README files, before we start to use any type of software program to insure compatibility with your current system/setup/hardware/skill level.

Read The FINE Manual.

Depending on the sensitivity of the intended receipient, and the lack of couth of the one uttering "RTFM", other "F" words may be substituted as needed.

Well hell, no secret here...unconcerned about the first part; overflowing with the second.

OK, my latin is rustier than I thought. The closest I could come up with was:

"There is little sincerity[honesty] in a city of actors."

But I don't think that's quite right. What's the actual translation?
