Intentional RF jammers are illegal. Look around; we don't encourage illegal topics here. It is also a good way to ensure an economic contribution to the Federal court system.
![]() If you are talking about 802.11b, then repeaters come in four flavors: 1) Active: AP/Repeater packages which are designed for this function, such as the DLink 900+, etc. Read the AP specs to detemine if it repeats. 2) Active: Two APs connected on the same wired subnet. This can be a via hub or crossover cable. You may also use an AP and a wireless bridge on the same subnet. 3) Passive: A panel of RF reflective material. 4) Passive: Two high gain diectional antennae hooked back to back, by a very short coax. Which one to use will depend heavily on the overall system design.

A coffee can and some batteries?
I remember seeing on one of the pringles/coffee can antenna sites that someone had plans to build a good repeater out of a coffee can and a couple of batteries. The site didn't have a link and said that the creator was not spilling the beans. I am looking for the $7 repeater model. Seriously, somehow following the lines of the Cantenna...or something.
Gracias. |

Can't been done for under $10 using a battery and a cantenna. Maybe your thinking of this?

2) Connecting to APs you don't own is not legal. WarDriving has nothing to do with connecting to APs. The two are seperate and distinct. Look around these forums and you'll see we go to extra pains here to make sure people DO NOT connect to APs. 3) As stated previously, a jammer is illegal. A jammer is not "good" nor can it do good. By nature they are bad, which may be why they are illegal. Looks pretty simple to me, we encourage legal activities and discourage illegal activing.
