Laptop Dell
Dell started making the home edition of their comps...so you could go with one of their bulky laptops for 1000 dollars...dont get me wrong, if bulky isnt your thing, you can always sacrifice performance for space.
Anyway, i bought my wireless turbo pcmcia bronze encryption lucent wavelan card...and running WinME, and netstumbler isnt detecting the card. what do i do? |

Laptop?
I have an Acer Travelmate 507t celeron 466/128 megs of ram/cdrom/56k modem and sound card builtin/12.1" active matrix screen/touchpad. I need to get rid of it. Runs perfectly with win9x or ME, runs great with 2k also, but won't use the sound or modem with 2k because Acer refuses to put out drivers for them. Bastards. So anyway. Email me if anyone is interested in this notebook.

Minimal Laptop
I've successfully run Netstumbler on a P166 laptop with Windows NT. You might be able to get by with an ever slower laptop running Win95, but I ran into various problems that kept me from fully installing the Orinoco or executing the Netstumbler.exe binary (mfc42.dll)
