Do you have one? Does it have an FCC ID#?
The power level is acceptable. Although (generally) 300mW cards are not meant to be used in laptops (at least with an integrated antenna). As long as the card is setup for channels 1 --> 11 then it sould be good to go (unless it has not gotten FCC aproval). I'm going to guess that this is the same card as the 300mW Demarc. It also looks like there are nor resellers for this product in the US. Now I would have to question FCC approval. FYI - I almost always find it is better to setup a network using the equipment that the users of the network will be using. This way you will be sure the network coverage area is what the customer expects. If you go in with a high power card chances are you will leave some holes in coverage. I suppose it can. But see bold text in post #2. And what do you mean by "set up networks"? As for the FCC ID a rule of thumb is that if it is certified then it is certified for use in the USA (in some capacity). Keep in mind that there may be restrictions. Also note that a search of the FCC database does not show that ID # (or a variant of). Last edited by wrzwaldo : 04-06-2005 at 04:50 PM. |

sounds like you want to set up a WISP with a 1 - 3 mile range..consult the FCC about power limits, liscensing, etc.. then learn how to spell. Ps.. the horse's mother is dead, now we are going after its father
