Linksys WRT54g Firmware
There's much interest in these things with regard to the os they use, talk of increasing the power etc. I've managed to crash the thing several times, provoking the diagnostic led to start blinking. No amount of re-setting or power cycling fixes it though. If you manage it too, sometimes when just upgrading the firmware via a Linksys download, try the following before you pick up the phone or make the trip back to the store.... Using the TPTP application ( *Google* it, and often referred to in the same breath as "Wap11 Hack") upload the complete firmware .bin file for the version that you want to the routers ip address. When the diag. led blinks the router defaults to 192.168.1.1 regardless of what you might have changed it too. The settings needed for TFTP are binary upload and the destination file should be the same as the firmware file name (it will default to this anyway) I've stopped using the web page upgrade route and use this now, you can also downgrade the firmware revision should you wish. Hope this helps if you find yourself in a panic :-)
