lmr400 orinoco pigtail
I haven't yet found the pigtail I am looking for. I'd like a 3' lmr 400 cable for my Lucent Orinoco card. Shouldn't there be a demand for these, causing them to be an easy to find cable? At this point male or female at the other end doesn't matter. I'dlike to experiment with homemade antennas.
Thanks for any sources. I have been watching eBay. |

The reason you cannot plug lmr400 into an orinoco antenna connector is the fact that the center conductor of the lmr400 is about the same size as the entire jack of the orinoco antenna. lmr400 is about 1/2" in diameter. I suppose a connector could be manufactured for it, but it is pretty unpractical. Not to mention that lmr400 is so stiff, that 3' pigtail would be way too cumbersome.

For a 3' run you will lose .39dbi of loss on the lmr100. If you are really concerned about that, get a short lmr100 pigtail and make a longer run of the lmr400.
Per foot. lmr100 loss is .13 dbi for lmr400 it is .03 dbi |

Thats means adding another connector, which means 3dbi loss. |
