ok,

Read as much as you can on this forum b4 u get flamed. this place is not all that welcoming to non-reading, tell me how you do this or that newbs. Hell, its not all that welcoming to anyone. Many people are just itching to say RTFM! UTFSE! it helps them with their inferiority complexes.

Non the less there is a TON of information in here, read it.

Go to 80211-planet.com and read there for some good basic information.

Buy Orinoco silver or gold pc cards.

Go to www.fab-corp.com, buy the LinkSys Indoor Starter Kit w/ 10 dBi Patch.

Then go to bestbuy and buy the LinkSys BEFW11S4.

Stick the patch antenna in a window and point it at your garage

Buy the 5dbi mag mount from fab-corp and a pigtail for wardriving.

Tell fab-corp you heard about them from netstumbler and u get a 7% discount

Total cost: ~ $375
Spending sunday nights wardriving: priceless

Oh yeah if you dont read, u'll never make any of this crap work.

That's the one. Like many here, I've read it cover to cover and suggest it to all (although the advice on MAC address filtering was, in my opinion, a little silly. But then again, I'm not a published author).

Enjoy!
