hmmm
i shut down the compaq wl110 client manager and it disables radio, so netstumbler says no card found
(((and it always looks on channel 10 or 11, i saw it goto 3 once, but like, never changes and no way of changing to other channels ![]() so like, when compaq client manager is running, which is must do to let the card be seen, so is netstumbler... is the client manager overriding netstumbler and still trying to connect to an ap i named and not letting netstumbler look for any other channels? help! bob |

I'm curious too
I am using a WL110 in my ipaq and was wondering if any other drivers would be more appropriate. I am using the client manager on its default settings when I am stumbling, and when I am home I switch to one which uses 128 WEP. I don't have any problems with it finding APs. i just want to know the best place to get the best kind of antennae to use with it driving around in a subaru justy with the top open. Like this but green and with a sunroof. http://www2.mf.uni-lj.si/~jurbancic/pics/justya1.jpg
And also, Does anyone play Counter-Strike. heh jes aksin |

wl110
Hi,
YEp it's possible to use any of the clone lucent cards with the lucent client manager, just have to force the drivers to use those in the lucent driver tree. Youll get errors saying some crap about the drivers not being for the device etc, but just click 'getonwithit' and it'll install. The lucent client manager will then work if I remember correctly. If would seem that the firmware for the station functions are loaded by the windows driver too. I'm using a cobbled together set of drivers so I can use the compaq client manager, with the lucent profile editor, and the latest lucent station firmware. Also 101 is the default ssid for Symbol AP's - well 303 is appearing too from newer Symbols. CU |
