Lucent Wavelan IEEE
I have a Lucent WaveLan IEEE card, and i just installed the beta drivers, mentioned here: http://forums.netstumbler.com/showth...&threadid=3138
now i have been having major problems with this card. so now, the machine is pretty stable, no crashing or anything, but ns wont work with these drivers. so here is the thing tho the client manager opens, the machine hangs for a few seconds, then it says this This program is not compatible with the firmware on your card Network Interface Card - Variant 4 Version 1.06 Client manager - Variant 1 Version 2.92 No matching variant and it also says Station Functions Firmware - Variant 2 Version 8.58 Client manager - Variant 1 Version 2.92 No matching variant it blinks back and forth between these two messages. now i want to first of all say that it is NOT a driver issue, this is a fresh re-install of windows 2000 professional. I have already gone thru all of the bullshit of removing drivers and devices...what i want to know is if somene knows how to possible "reset" the firmware to a factory default or something like that, or can h00k me up with some old firmware revisions, so i can try to get this working. otherwise, i think my card is fux0red...and that would suck... |

If the card is actually labelled a "Lucent Wavelan" card then it is pretty old and you do not want the original firmware because it's not compatible with the new client manager. (I know I have the same card.)
You have to update the firmare on the card to something more recent so the CM will see and interact with it properly. I had to go through this a while back and had to play around with it until I could get the CM and firmware to agree to talk to each other. It was annoying, but it can be resolved. You can download some of the older revisions of firmware here if the latest version isn't working for you.
