MC and MCX connectors

I've googled several places unsuccessfully to find out if there is a difference between MC and MCX connectors. Or whether it is just a matter of one manufacturer using the term MC while another uses MCX for the same thing.

Will an MC female connect with an MCX male connector?

Okay, thanks, so now I need to find a pigtail to connect the MC female connector to an SMC female connector. Or as Hawking calls it a reverse SMA plug. I find these terms, reverse and reverse polarity a little confusing. What's wrong with the old fashioned male and female terms! [Just thinking aloud.]

But any suggestions for vendors for the right pigtail? In looking at several, it doesn't seem as though I can do it in one pigtail - might need two.

That's Political Correctness Run Amok. Very similar to many manufacturer's stopped using the term Master/Slave on PC and video equipment.

Don't confuse a Reverse-SMA (RSMA) with a standard female SMA! They are VERY different.

Give the guys down at www.fab-corp.com a call. If they don't have the right pigtail, they'll custom make one for you.
