Mobile Antenna + Mag Mount
Here's a question: If I got the 7dBi Mobile Antenna from HyperLink (http://www.hyperlinktech.com/web/hg2407u.html), would it be a bad thing if I just epoxied a big-ass magnet to the bottom?
This also might be better asked: what the hell is "Integral N-Type Male"?
But, ultimately, could I just put a magnet on the bottom? Or is the mounting type that important to the antenna? |

Make sure your grounded
Being a Amateur Radio operator, I know a little about antennas. Looking at the antenna you should be able to get a mag mount with an "N" connector on it however their only rated to 500 MHZ. Just a couple of tips: Keep the coax run short, and make sure the antenna has a good ground (mag mounts capacitance couple to the body of the car, keep the antenna away from other antennas.
Good luck, Don |
