Modded the Linksys WCF11

Here are my images:

The modding seems doesn't work, not sure why. the card run as there were no external antenna connected, the range still as same as original.

2. I even I toke out the two caps (two circle with RED color), the card just run normally.

Anyone able to point out what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks,
Abum

I would say your soldering could be at fault. That solder for the shield and center conductor doesn't look too good.

Too much solder on any antanna connection will cause RF deflection and you have too much solder on those connections.

I also think he's exposed too much center conductor. And he's built nice solder walls around that center conductor, which would seem as though it's transmitting back into itself and probably raising is SWR (yes, prez, that evil SWR).

When working with such high frequencies, you really want to keep the shield as close to the center conductor as possible.
