My new driver has many options I've never heard of
There are quite a few new options for a driver I got for my Ubiquiti card, but some are cryptic or comepletely unknown to me. I'd like to be able to tweak it, so if anyone knows what some of these do.. i'd appreciate it.
11d Mode switch Background scan Background scan max deferral Bss Aging period Calibration period clear list on scan Country Code -> which country doesn't inhibit ANY settings No Beacon timeout Roaming rates Roaming Rssi's Scan time pre-sleep scan type -> what the difference between passive and active Scan interval sleep time post-scan |

Thanks for the info. just a little followup:
11d mode switch - the other options don't says 'switch', so i thought maybe this would make it ONLY d background scanning - whats the pro/con of not scanning in the background? bss aging - what is this? calibration - what is it calibrating? clear list on scan - yeah, i'm a dumbass roaming rates - good joke.. but they have values like 24000 and 5000. i'm not sure what this means rssi rates - are there downsides to larger rates? ok, the rest are sarcastic.. so hopefully someone can tell me about the rest. (And of course i've googled all before I posted here, but unfortunately key word passive and active scanning will give you 500,000 entries.. 3 of which may have an answer. |

Results 1 - 10 of about 1,290,000 for passive scanning. (0.24 seconds) In the first 4 results returned... "Review: Active vs. passive scanning - Network World" Yep I bet it would take a while to figure out which one you need to read. ![]() |
