Need help to identify this connector

I have a Thinkpad with a built-in wireless adapter. The adapter has 2 antenna's and has Xircom stamped on it. However the IBM site refers to the card as Intel WireLess.

I'm looking to add an external antenna, but I'm not sure what type of connector this is. I haven't seen anything like it on my searches. These connectors are really, really small. I think it's of type MC, but I can't say for sure. All the pictures I've found look a little different.

I have what looks to be the same thing. It's a Truemobile 1150 minipci, if that helps at all. I don't know what kind of connector it is, though.

Well, seeing that Xircom was bought out by Intel (March 2001)
I can see where the confusion is. Unfortunatly I couldn't find
any useful info on the Xircom/Intel www site.

SMC2632W external antenna connector

I honestly don't know if this will help any but....

I have an SMC2632W card that has what looks to be this same type of connector under the SMC logo sticker.
The connector is inline with the trace going to the antennas. I showed this to a friend who works on ham RF equipment and he suggested (but wasn't certain) that it was used in testing the cards at the factory. It appears the connector is not designed to accept a "plug" with physical retention, but rather as an "insert point" for automated equipment to make the RF connection while holding the probe to the MCB.

I could not readily see a way to modify this to accept an external connector, and thought it simpler to just buy a card with an external antenna connector.

I have more pix of the connector with the case removed if interested.

That SMC connector is very similair. However I know that mine is meant for an antenna. I actually unpluged the antenna wires from both of them to take the picture. They snap in pretty firmly.

Here's a picture of the antenna wires, It was pretty hard to get the camera to focus on them. Just too small.

This was discussed here in the past, it's a Hirose u.fl connector and many cards seem to have them someplace...
