new card advice needed, orinoco only chance?
I want to buy a new card for my laptop (so I want a PCMCIA one) and need it to support the 802.11G mode. Also I need it to work perfectly with aircrack (so it must have prism2 (wlan-ng), atheros (madwifi) or prism54 chipset) and, if possible, to have an external antenna connector or to have an internal connector that can be used (so no soldering involved). After a lot of search I could only find one card with everyting, the orinoco 8470-WD, but this card is too expensive for me (at least I can only find it at $70), so I started looking for a card without an external antenna connector and I found a ORiNOCO clone 802.11A/B/G for only $30. Now, my questions are: does this card support an external antenna even if it is with an internal connector under the cover? is there another card that can be easily modded to connect an external antenna without soldering? is this card good enough for wardriving inside a car without an external antenna? any help is welcome.
PS: the only info I have on the ORiNOCO clone 802.11A/B/G is here: eBay link |

No, If the card supports 'A' then it cannot have an external antenna connector.
