Hi all I'm new to this wirelees stuff. can someone please inform me on what a good antenna would be for my puter? i have a HP desktop in my truck and would love to get better range than my belkin dual ant. can give. I connect to the internet thru a subcription service with Flying J truckstops but i cant always find a place to park in the T/S. I need to be able to connect from the greastest distance possible.
Thanks to anyone who responds in advance. Please excuse my newness I'm only a stupid trucker lol |

I am also fairly new but fumbled on a site of interest. The info may help you decide what to do.
http://kyleti.aswwc.net/index.php?pa...80211b_Discone I am building a version of the disc-cone for myself. I will post results but am waiting for the pigtail for my card before I can try anything. This is all assuming that your computer wifi card has an external antenna jack. |

When ever I drive by a F-J I get about a hundred AP hits...even if I don't stop for fuel.
I have the Fab-Corp 5 dBi Magnetic Mount Omni Antenna on my roof. Great for stumbling and home networking. (like using home computer to administer truck computer... |
