Now I am confused...

Folks,

Once again, if anyone can shed any light on this, please do!

I can't get either of my two Agere Orinoco cards to work reliably with NS. One is a Toshiba mini-pci (Satellite Pro 6100) and the other a Dell TrueMobile 1150.

However, my Linksys WPC11 version 1 works flawlessly with NS 3.30! Can anyone figure this out? From what I read in several posts, the WPC11 (version?) is not supposed to work with NS and the other two are? Go figure!

You might have 1. a system conflict 2. driver problems 3. flash the orinoco cards, and once that is all done, install xp and see if they run.

Tks, but...

Folks,

Thanks for the replies. Actually all three cards work perfectly with XP and the Access Point, EXCEPT they behave strangely with NS. Both Orinoco cards scan for about 1 or 2 minutes and then lose the AP, however, they continue to be connected to the AP and communicate over the network.

The WPC11 was the last card I installed. The original card was the mini-pci. Then I installed the Dell TM1150.

I appreciate the replies but reinstalling XP right now is not an option.

Ah, one more thing. There are no conflicts of any kind on the system. Only one card is enabled at any given time.

All cards installed without any hitches. However, I might try to flash the Dell TM1150 asap and test it out again.

Tks again,

Well in that case, it sounds like the infamous NS bug....
Look under properties and uncheck "Reconfigure automacticaly"
Hopefully this will be fixed in the next ver. when ever it get out.
