Unhappy Orinoco Card problems. Please Help!
I just bought a new Orinoco GOLD Card. I have a titanium G4 powerbook.

For some reason my OS X won't recognize the card is in the PC slot.

Please help me! I also updated the airport software. however it still wont recognize there is a new card in the PC slot.

OS X drivers for PC Cards
Does anyone know if a OS X drivers are availalble for Orinoco or other PC Cards?

Please suggest what card I should get if i want to use it with OS X. (i.e something other than Airport card). I want to use an external antenna with a PC card.

don't know if he was running OSX or not, but the other nite, i put my orinoco silver into a powerbook pccard slot and it showed up as "airport pc card."

Before I bought my card, I read on forums that if you use the Orinoco cards.. i'm using the GOld one. It will be read as a Airport card. because the airport card actually is a Wavelan card.

However I have not been getting these results on my powerbook.

I did read that there are OPEN SOURCE drivers available for orinoco and other cards.

Orinoco will be releasing MAC OSX support. but due to legal issues they have been delayed.

isn't it lame that lucent can provide the airport card to apple but when it comes to just releasing a card that's lucent, not airport, there are legal problems? i read somewhere that there was a hack for osx that will let you use *any* card you want, not just orinoco. unfortunately i don't know where that was...

Talking 3rd-party PC Card Drivers!!
After a lot of searching.. I stumbled across this great website.

3rd party drivers for almost ALL PC Cards on OS X.

NOTE: Please read the FAQ on this website before installing this. As there are several limitations of this driver.

I plan to test it with the Gold Orinoco Card very soon. Will post my results soon.
