Question Orinoco Gold Antenna Pigtail Probs?

Anyone else have problems with the small connector on the PC Card end of the orinogo gold pigtail? I've had it for about 4 days now and its been under almost no stress, but 3 of the 4 outer bracing pins have come off. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem?

At the moment i have it taped onto the card in a very unprofessional mannor Thinking of calling them for an RMA but i really dunno about that one. I used to write up RMAs and i'd allways think to myself 'god these people need to get a life'.

Put my pigtail in mine the first time, and when I pulled it out, one of the four outter clip/spokes broke off.

Since then, none have broken, but it doesn't have a solid hold either, I just try to baby it now.

Talking fixed my 19" pigtail

The gold connector extention coming out of the tip of the connector came off and stuck into my Lucent card... I could still plug the cable in and get wifi reception so I just considered it a mild pain in the butt...

Then one day, it ceased working... the antenna simply didnt help a single bit over the internal antenna...

In trying to figure out what went wrong, the gold bit broke completely and the pigtail was useless...

I bought a new fabcorp 60" Pigtail, to make use of cantenna's without having to do wierd balancing acts and such... and with it I ordered a replacement MC connector for my old pigtail...

suprisingly, despite thier mention of needed 'experience' with these connectors, it was easy as hell... the hardest part was when i realised that they drop a little solder into the damn connector hold on the back to hold the center conductor in place...
On a side note, the cable works as well as ever, but I have yet to figure out how to install the damn little circle plug into the back of the mc connector... I think i need some kind of tamper or soemthing... who knows?

Jeffrowe,

I think I am also new to the club of broken MC connectors. I am interested in fixing my pigtail, but it looks for what I have read that I need a special crimp tool and a very fine tip for my solder.

Did you use any of these special tools to fix your pigtail?

MET.
