Orinoco Gold Card and promiscious mode
I've heard a number of people mention that the latest firmware for the Orinoco gold (and silver?) card disables the ability to put the card into promiscious mode.

Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Word of mouth.
There was a gentleman on the openBSd mailing list that said he had upgraded his card and was still capable of going full promisicuous..

Right I've been successfull in snooping non-encrypted data with Orinoco gold card running on Win2k SP2 with :

Primary functions Firmware at: 4.04
Station Functions firmware at: 7.28

Have not had the time to test it with encrypted data, however I cant see any reason why not.

what are you using to do the snooping in win2k? I've tried using the NETMON that comes with win2k, but it doesnt really give much info out
