Question Orinoco for netstubler and airsnort what Flash version?
from what I am reading it looks as though I need to flash my Orinoco Gold with a different version of the firmware for airsnort and netstumbler. This raises a few questions.

First, How do I determine what flash version I currently have installed?

Next if I flash it back to an older version of the firmware for airsnort (say with WSU_606.exe) where do I get the current version ( I think it is 8.10)

You should be able to use the same firmware for both of them. Just don't use version 8.10 or 7.25 because they won't work with the linux patch.

You can get all of the firmware from
ftp.orinocowireless.com/pub/

As for finding the firmware, the update firmware program will tell you which version you have.

Snax at the Shmoo group has figured it all out

http://airsnort.shmoo.com/orinocoinfo.html

and if i read right there is a new update from Snax as well...

you will need Windows to flash the card, but when you run ws_606.exe it will show you the firmware version you have and ask if you want to "downgrade" your firmware. I have gone back and forth with no trouble a couple of times trying different things. and i got all the updates from the ftp site JimmyPopAli posted

You need to download the other firmwares.

Thanks again. For some reason I cannot enter the FTP site, either with a browser, an ftp client, or command line. For some reason I was able to follow your link link to the download though.
