Orinoco Sliver pcmcia and 3COM AP
Hello , I can't get my Orinoco Silver card to associate with my 3COM airconnect 2.0. It searches for the signal and never finds the ap. I can't get the card to connect to a linksys wap11 either. It finds the SSID, but never locks on to the AP. Please help. I have 6 of the Silver cards and I would like to keep them. Thanks-Kevin

The cards are working with the Linksys now. I think the 3com is a lost cause. I think I'll try to trade a couple of the cards in , since they are new. If not maybe I can slide one to you shozbot. Thanks for the info--Kevin
The other day I inadvertantly happened upon a signal in a neighboring suite. I had my ESSID on "any". There signal became stronger than mine so my ipaq reassociated with their AP. I got the ESSID and channel. My cambridge Vx pocket utilities somehow acquired the IP of the AP. I assume that I was given a dhcp address. I still couldn't get onthe internet though. I guess they use a proxy or have no acess. Any ideas how to discover the IP of other pc's on the network? Of the topic I know, but what the hey..--Kevin |
