depends on what you want to do. as has been said many a time in this forum, the higher the dbi the flatter the pattern. so for wardriving, stick w/ the tried and tested mobile mark 5dBi. this 8dBi stick will probably miss some AP's in office buildings above you but reach farther for AP's that are closer in elevation to your car.

for an AP this 8dbi might do the trick as long as you stay within the 15deg beam width (it doesn't specify if it has a down tilt). if you're trying to focus a particular AP build yourself a cantenna or buy a directional antenna such as a yagi.
