if u r talking about a pci PCMCIA adapter like the ones normally supplied with some kits then the answer is yes they should work with pretty much any PCMCIA card as long as it is not a cardbus card (wich no wireless cards are that I know of).

I know that the Orinoco silvers work. Our local isp has wireless and he uses the pci pcmcia adapter. Also he has the usb client which is nothing but a plastic shell with a blank card (no stickers other then mac address on the back) He also has ssid broadcasting off no wep. He goes around town and stumbles for his own signal.

I have tried to put an Orinoco Gold card into a PCMCIA/PCI
card I have, No matter what machine I try, The Card works fine, is detected by the CM, can communicate with the wired PC's/Internet but can't talk to other wireless cards, which are on the same WAP. Even when put into P2P mode, both PC's CM find the siganls from the other, but still cant communicate.. Am I missing something here, or is this yet another "Feature" All OS's are Win2k |
