PCMCIA card form factors

Here's a question that's less dumb than it sounds. Who's got a PCMCIA g card with an antenna that protrudes DOWN?

I'd like to run a dual-card setup (and I really like my Atheros-based DWL-G650) and my existing card's antenna rises up slightly, so that if I try and run two of them at the same time I have to really wedge 'em in to the PCMCIA slots, which is scary since they fit but it's not pretty. Ideally I'm looking for a RFMON capable card with an antenna that's fatter below than on top. Anyone got something like this?

Got a Topcom Atheros 802.11b/g PCCard , which has a completely flat antenna. I.E. the protruding part with the antenna, is flush with the rest of the PC card.

But remember that if you are using two cards that close to each other, you'll get noise, and the possibilitiy of frying one or the other or both cards transmitter and receiver.

Good point as Dutch pointed out! You may want the second card to have a removable antenna (or at least an external antenna connector) then use it with a remotely mounted antenna. I use a classic gold in the top slot and a member of the gold family (with removable antenna) in the lower slot with a remote antenna. I'll post a picture when I get home this evening.

mmm.. Frying=bad. I do have a usb g dongle (Think it's a DWL-G122) I can plug in, too (usb port's on the other side of the laptop) which might solve the problem for the moment. I've heard it can be convinced to work under linux using ndis wrapper. Not useful for much, but I can always use the PC card for monitoring and the second card for DNS/stuff that requires being connected to my AP.

Not that I won't hesitate to pick up a card w/ en external antenna if I get the chance. Would be a much more elegant solution.

There are several different models by different makers that are "antennaless" designs. They typically have no protruding antenna bulge (or one that pops off) and have obvious antenna port(s). The Symbol Spectrum24 (FCC #H9PLA4121) is a good example of this type of card.
