PCMCIA cards with factory external antenna connectors?
1) I have obtained a cisco 342LMC , an ISA card, and it looks like I can remove it from the card carrier and have a PCMCIA card with external antenna connector. Unfortunately, the driver that works fine for a 340 PCMCIA card ignores this card. Any ideas?
2) I have noticed some references to the lucent/avaya card and want to verify before buying said card. Does the PCMCIA card actually have both an external connector and a built-in antenna? If not, which card shoul I buy to connect to my collection of antennas? BTW, I found 102 APs locally with nothing but a laptop and a compaq WL110 sitting on the passender seat. They were uploaded last week. Thanks in advance. |

the avaya cards do have internal antennas that work very well, just like you're talking about with the passenger seat thing. there's the orinoco connector to connect external antennas. check www.fab-corp.com for pigtails if you don't have one already. it is a proprietary connector...
