Proxim 8482-WD PCI Card, Thoughts
Hi eveyone, let me start by saying this; I dont; want help with netstumbler working or not working with this I will handel that on my own, (hence I don't need the flames)
Also I did do a search for 8482-WD with no results OK, now that I got the ground rules in place, here I go!!!! I got one of these little babies, Procim Ahtros chip a/b/g pci slot ples external antenna. If have a nice cover on it which I imidiattly desodered. Under neeth is a nice mini-pci a/b/g card which works with my internal mini-pci slot on my laptop What I would like to know is does anyone know what the connector type is on the pci board. There is a littelcable form the mini pci to a connector on the board which the external antenna plugs into any one? wpj |

Why not just post a pic of it so we can see...
But I'm guessing it's a U.fl/Hirose if it's a Mini-PCI Post a pic and we can tell you for sure..

I think you're looking for a Hirose connector. I probably spelt it wrong. search around and you'll see what I mean.

On a similar note, Newegg has the Xterasys XN-2522G PCI card for $38 It appears to be a similar design - a mini-PCI card on a PCI carrier. It uses the Prism54G chipset, which has a Linux driver. I'd pick one up, but I've done enough impulse buying today (found good deal on a Mini-ITX board.) |
