Question for the WirelessWizards

A co-worker of mine got one of those Verizon wireless anywhere cards and loves it. Says he gets better speeds on it than on his wired DSL. I know Sprint offers the same thing but they cap you off at 40 megs of xfer and bill you a few cents per kilobyte till you reach 90.00

Verizon does not seem to do that and they post they have speeds from 40 kbyte up to 2 mbit.

anyone here have any experience with either of these cards?

for the price per month (50-70 a month depending on area) would be a nice addition to my laptop.

The Sprint card works great but not near the speed of my cable connection. I'm not sure about the transfer cap as it is a business account and I don't pay the bill.

Ok.. spoke a little more with my co-worker on his Verizon card.
You can get some rebates on the card if you sign a 2 year agreement and its about 50-60 a month.

if you want to go month to month, its 79.99 and no rebates, the card costs around 130-150.

He was told that there is no limit to megs you can leach.. however they will drop connection due to in-activity.

I am thinking more on this and bringing my laptop to work so I can lea... uh... RESEACH things there

Hook that into your wrt and you wouldn't have to worry about frying it doing the sd card mod. Just have it ftp the info home.
