router to router wirless link

i gave a neighbor a linksys wrt54g router to hook up to theyre comcast modem. i receive an ok signal with wireless usb adapters in the window but then i was giving a yagi thinking a directional approach might improve things for me, so i bought a belkin pci card so i could connect the Yagi, however the cable is only 3 feet or so and doesnt get the signal any better than the usb adapters. and an extension cable would just be pointless, so my idea was can a router with the yagi attached be connected to an Ethernet card via RJ -45 cable to receive into my pc the internet wirelessly? if so .. how.. thus is giving me a headache

Just to clarify, you gave the Router to your neighbor so that they could share their inturweb connection with you?

Is that correct?

While you're at it, you might ask them to trade for a shift key.

You are going to have to draw something up so we can take a look at what you are wanting to do. Can you also load up Google Earth and show the locations of your house and your neighbors? This way we can certainly tell if it will work.

Funny that you mention popcorn, the previous owners of our new house left a microwave for us. You can have it to replace the one that was lost during the Sq'rat debacle.

@jacespace
I can do a rough triangulation if you give me the coordinates or addresses of the house in queation and the approximate location of the equipment. I can run them through see and see what happens.

Photographs of the general area would probably help us get a better approximation.

Does anyone care to point out the error of jacespace's ways? I'm too busy today. By the way, he's on Comcast.

Let me see if I can put this in no uncertain terms.

Jacespace you by one's own admission are party to the violation of the Terms of Service provided by the ISP Comcast. You have admitted this publicly on a forum that is moderated by ex/law enforcement and frequented by ISPs and other state/federal agencies. This forum will co-operate fully in the release of all information logged both public and private as it relates to your violation to any interested party including but not limited to your ISP. This violation can in certain states carry fines and or prison time if prosecuted. Have a nice day.

COMCAST? (/me dials his GF so she can get in on the fun err... BBQ) hehe.. seriously... if I WERE to call up there on their tech #, lets just say level 1 techs do not talk to me, I get moved directly up to level 2 or 3 and has had it set up so for about 6 years, that and should the call get escalated to her, she will crucify the tech that pissed me off.
