Smile RP SMA MALE/female?? to MALE MC?
Hi all,

I don't know if this is possible... I've been researching for the past few hours and I'm not too sure on how possible it is for me to lay my hands on this in the UK.

I need a RP SMA Male (or maybe a female??) to Male MC connector.

I have a Orinico Silver card and a Yagi antenna. The Yagi antenna has a RP SMA male connector (http://www.wlanantennas.com/images/rpsma_male_en.gif) and I need it to plug into the MC female on the card, so a MC male (http://wireless.gumph.org/content/3/...-male-big.jpg).

The SMA in the photo to me looks female but it states it is male and mine looks exactly the same. Therefore I need a a setup like this:

RP SMA MALE (got) -> RP SMA FEMALE -> MC MALE -> (MC FEMALE on card - got)

Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.

I think I found one:

Man I hate when people suddenly swap the Male and Female about... as in TO and what the actual end is on the cable. Anyhow, thanks for your help

Ack! After reading http://www.binarywolf.com/249/connectors.htm#null

looks like I need a FEMALE RP-SMA connector to connect to my MALE RP-SMA. So my question, so I connect Male RP-SMA to a Female SMA (not RP) or do I need the Female to be RP-SMA also?

Usually the gender is established by the sex of the center contact in a non-RP configuration.

Even though a connector goes through a sex change via the RP designation it still retains its original gender.
