Fab Corp. www.fab-corp.com
BTW, while there as all sorts of RP connectors and there are certainly MMCX connectors, I've never heard of a "RP-MMCX" connector. Not to say it doesn't exist, but you just might want to check further on what exactly you need. Also, please try to post in an appropriate forum. This has nothing to do with the Windows version of NetStumbler, or even NS at all. It's a hardware issue. Therefore, it's been moved.

Yes, RP means "Reverse Polarity". However, the term means a connector where the (usually) center male and female parts are reversed. I just haven't seen that yet on an MMCX, and doubt that is what you really want for your card.
As far as that card goes, it is my understanding that of the two connectors, one is TX/RX and one is RX only. (Search on more information on this card. It's been explained before.) Most likely what you want is a single antenna on the TX/RX port. If that is the case, then you want an "MMCX to N-Male pigtail." The pigtail then attaches to a standard antenna cable which is terminated in an N-Female connector. BTW, you do understand that this card is not supported for use with NS, don't you? If you don't, and you were planning to use it for wardriving with NS, then you should look in the README.HTML which comes with NS, and then read the NS FAQ and FAQ threads. It may work with W2k or XP, but it is not guaranteed.

Actually, my question wasn't answered. Upon searching Fab-Tech by hand I cam up dry; plan b was to go to google and do a "site:www.fab-tech.com dual mmcx." I came up with three results none of which were relevent to my search.
I guess the question should be this, then. I can find MMCX connectors, that's no problem. I can find RP MMCX connectors as well. I cannot find information specific to *DUAL* RP-MMCX connectors; does this mean I can take any two antennas and pop them on this baby? This search has become nearly ridiculous; I hope to get some info on this very soon as I'm anxious to get my hardware gathered up and ready to roll. Thank you much, -David |

You're suppose to use only one jack for external antenna. Look here: http://www.teletronics.com/productdiagrampcmciahigh.pdf Last edited by gampt : 04-01-2005 at 11:09 AM. |

I meant Fab-Corp; I searched Fab-Corp; >_< I typed Fab-Tech. Sorry for the horrible type; it's been a very long day. Thanks for the link, although not quite what I'm looking for. I'm actually interested in a Demarc card with Dual RP-MMCX connectors. I think I'll call them. I hope they'll know about their product. Thanks all for the help. ![]() Edit: My question concerned the hookup of the Dual RP-MMCX connection, not the card. Thanks Last edited by Ephektz : 04-01-2005 at 11:22 AM. |
